Cite[edit]

Right, so I just got back from seeing it, and I have no idea how to cite something like a monologue before the performance of a play. If someone else wants to cite it, the only relevant info is that I saw it June 2nd, 2007, at Roy Thomson Hall, in Toronto, Canada. If you need more information to cite it correctly, e-mail me via my user page, or something. (The fact that Oundjian and Idle's mothers are sisters, for example, was something Idle mentioned prior to the show beginning, and is thus completely unverifiable, unless someone wants to go look it up. If need be, you can delete it, or, you know, go check birth certificates. It seems silly, though, that just because it isn't published, we can't trust Eric Idle to know who is own mother is, or me to report the truth.) And, by the way, the show was fantastic, and received a standing ovation. The performers came out a total of three times during the applause, which lasted five minutes, easy. And I sat about ten feet away from John Du Prez! At the beginning, Eric came out decked up in a Canada sweatshirt and a scarf and shook his rear end at the audience. He did a speech about how excellent Canada is, and received wild applause. While this isn't encyclopedic at all, if you're reading this article, it's probably because you are considering going to the show. I advise you to do so. Further citation issues[edit]

Almost every fact I added in my most recent couple of edits is from the programme to the show. Anyone know how to cite a programme? Goyston talk, contribs, play 20:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Why was my edit reverted? Is it because I said where in Australia it would be shown? I don't see how this is an "advert for the show." 68.41.162.113 (talk) 22:40, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy)Not the Messiah: He's a Very Naughty Boy – or Not the Messiah, He's a Very Naughty Boy. I don't know how titled this movie is, but either the colon (:) or the comma (,) is easier than parentheses [()]. --George Ho (talk) 07:52, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, since the title is Not the Messiah (He's a Very Naughty Boy) we have to stick with that. We can't retitle something to suit our purposes. freshacconci talktalk 12:55, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you type in without any modifications other than quotes, you see either parentheses or colon. [1] --George Ho (talk) 19:13, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Most online mentions of the name use the parenthetical title (i.e. imdb). We can create the redirects but unless there's a source that states the official title is something else, we need to go by the usage in media and the common name. freshacconci talktalk 21:16, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The official artbox doesn't have parentheses or colons or any other. At the search, many sources have parentheses. However, some used just a colon: [2], [3]. Some used hyphen: [4], [5] (a version of [6]). --George Ho (talk) 23:05, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not this is renamed, redirects should exist from these choices. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 20:20, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
