Ownership[edit]

It's interesting to read that the canal is still owned by the North Walsham Canal Company. I read elsewhere that no one knows who or where that company is. One would think that the NRA or IWA will take over it one day. LewisR (talk) 00:25, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think someone must know who the canal company is, as the Old Canal Co have bought some of the canal from them. Bob1960evens (talk) 20:45, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Norfolk's Only Canal[edit]

Although this maybe true by name, there IS a short section of canal from St. Olaves to Reedham simply called New Cut. It is arrow straight when viewed from the larger of the two bridges on the A143 from Haddiscoe to St. Olaves.

Cetainly the wikipedia article on Haddiscoe Cut states that it is a canal. The other half of that scheme, which linked Oulton Broad to Lake Lothing, and included Mutford Sea Lock, is of course in Suffolk. There is also the issue of the Bure Navigation, which ran for 9 miles (14 km) and had five locks. The locks are now derelict, but the route can still be traversed by canoe. Nor can I find who the "officially" refers to, and there is no source given. I am therefore going to remove it. Bob1960evens (talk) 17:56, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I have reviewed the article against the following criteria:

  • Suitably referenced, with inline citations
  • Reasonable coverage - no obvious omissions or inaccuracies
  • Defined structure, with adequate lead
  • Reasonably well written for grammar and flow
  • Supporting materials - Infobox, map, images, POI table
  • Appropriately understandable

Since it meets all of these, I am rating it as B class. Bob1960evens (talk) 23:18, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
