The result of the move request was: Move. Cúchullain t/c 15:05, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Norman Lloyd (actor)Norman Lloyd – I propose the bold move of this article be undone. The actor clearly has higher significance over the relatively unremarkable others. wirenote (talk) 20:29, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, but tentatively support. It would seem that the bold page move has some objection. Therefore I agree that the article should retain Norman Lloyd, and the person who wishes to move the article to, Norman Lloyd (actor) should have the burden of requesting a page move, not the other way around.--JOJ Hutton 22:38, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment, normally would support by WP:BRD but I'm not sure that User:Jc86035's move isn't a good one. Norman Lloyd is a commonish name and the actor doesn't stand out as being more notable than all other Norman Lloyds who ever existed combined. He'll get move page views because he was (apparently, I've never watched it) in a medical drama St. Elsewhere. But is he more than 50% of all Google Book hits for Norman Lloyd? • Comment if this is reverted, then the disambiguation page should be moved off to Norman Lloyd (disambiguation) -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 05:15, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – precision is better than ambiguity. Dicklyon (talk) 06:33, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Wow. Look at these pageviews for May (June for the composer, given its recent creation):
    actor: 11,116
    artist: 173
    composer: 117 + 74 = 191 (first stats 6/1/14)
    Norman Lloyd-Edwards: 114
The actor got 11,116 out of 11,594 pageviews. That's 96%. (?!) Even if you add a few days' worth to the new composer article, this is not even close. This is what WP:PRIMARYTOPIC was designed for. Dohn joe (talk) 12:38, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support because it's primary topic and many articles link to the disambig instead of this article and it would be easiest to move this page back instead of changing all the links. Jc86035 (talkcontributions) 03:48, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question. Why is there no mention of his politics? Its well known he was a target of the anti-communist witch hunts of the 50s, and became blacklisted. Was he a communist? Many were and proud of it, i.e Charlie Chapman, Lucile Ball, etc. Some reference to his actual political beliefs would seem to be an area of interest given his persecution over alleged political beliefs. 2601:645:8300:81:F4FC:3737:C707:9300 (talk) 05:29, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Death?[edit]

I can find no reference to his having died other than in this article. He is not listed under "Deaths in 2019." Is this for real? Kostaki mou (talk) 20:22, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's a vandal making stuff up for no reason.Crboyer (talk) 20:57, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Television Credits[edit]

He's known to have been an occasional panelist on the Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour game show, a fact which is easily verifiable, but it's not listed in his television credits. Is there another reason for this?2601:405:4000:1F50:81CB:EAC0:31B:6223 (talk) 20:52, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop changing the retirement date[edit]

Self-explanatory. This has happened so many times in the last months; it's been going back and forth, with contributors adding it without cites or saying "He's retired" in the edit summary without corroboration. A message to other contributors. You need to provide a reason when you change the years active. You need to cite a source. Stop changing it. The brave celery (talk) 23:17, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure about what seemed to be an edit war stating that he either began working 1923 or 1932, but the article says he was child performer since the age of 9 ("Lloyd became a child performer ... by the age of nine"), also I'm not sure why it said he retired in 2015 when his article claims he has a project that's at least still being developed as of 2019 and I don't see any official source saying he's retired. Date of death[edit]

Well.. Surprise, Surprise! Another Hollywood celebrity death, another death date discussion...! Deadline says Lloyd passed away in his sleep on May 10, which is Monday. Variety and Hollywood Reporter, on the other hand, says Lloyd died Tuesday, which is May 11. So who do we believe, or should we toss a coin...?

Preview not working[edit]

When I hover over the wikilink to this article, I don't get the actual lead, but just a pair of right braces--try it and see if you get the same result: Norman Lloyd. I've tried this on two different articles that link here and get the same result both places. But I can't find any errors in the coding of the introduction that would cause this problem. Help? Thanks, Aristophanes68 (talk) 03:23, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All I can say is "works for me!". This may depend on which "skin" your preferences indicate to use. The only possibly complicating thing I see in the source text is the HTML comment preceding the opening braces on the infobox. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 04:03, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Parents and sisters dates.[edit]

Why move dates of his parents and sisters? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.245.33.234 (talk) 16:53, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
