Unsatisfactory 1942-3 content[edit]

This is not ok at the moment:

"The London Gazette of 23 February 1943, page 934, shows that Pilot Officer N De M Bentwich OBE MC (RAF/115215) was cashiered by sentence of a General Court Martial, effective from 16 December 1942. His promotion to Flight Lieutenant had been Gazetted on 24 February 1942."

The reason is that this primary source needs to be connected to the topic of the article, and the matching name is not enough. If it wasn't for the "OBE MC", I'd delete it. Is this episode mentioned in a biography? Why was he cashiered? Zerotalk 03:31, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am looking for a Reliable Source but it seems he took home some secret documents (re Operation Torch) and lost them. Nedrutland (talk) 07:54, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There is an account (apparently) in his autobiography and a paper "The Prof, The Charwoman, The TORCH plans and The court‐martial: Flying officer Bentwich's Nemesis" by G. Rubin, in The RUSI Journal 2008. @Zero0000: Nedrutland (talk) 08:16, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Nedrutland: Great, I have the article. Zerotalk 08:40, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you don't have access to the article, send me mail and I'll give you a copy. I also notice that the UK National Archives have a file declassified in 2014 and not used by Rubin. Zerotalk 09:38, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
