Algebraic Geometry[edit]

As far as I was aware, a normal surface was one where the sheaf of holomorphic functions was normal, i.e. each local ring of holomorphic functions is normal.

A necessary and sufficient condition for this is that the surface has only isolated singularities, and that each local ring of holomorphic functions is Cohen-Macaulay. Dharma6662000 (talk) 18:50, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
