what is meant by brink?[edit]

This article mentions the word "brink" several times, but I am not familiar with this usage.

Brink is an old Saxon word for the place that the farms and houses of the village radiate out to. It's also the place where the free farmers of the village meet to discuss things. Brinks are found in Drenthe and in villages in the neighbouring Emsland in Germany.87.208.3.170 (talk) 18:24, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
