History[edit]

"There is a long and storied history of basketball in New Zealand dating back to when Wilt Chamberlain vacationed at the island paradise back in the 60s and introduced the game to the Kiwis." The statement about Wilt Chamberlain seems unlikely and certainly untrue on the face of it since NZ joined FIBA in 1951 and there is plenty of archive material pointing to competitions being run in the 1950's. Basketball was more likely introduced to NZ by the YMCA and then reinforced by the presence of US troops during the Second World War, but heh, let's not get hung up on facts when a good story will suffice (facetiousness). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.61.208.236 (talk) 23:38, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Steven Adams[edit]

No mention of him at all in the article? Surely he's the most notable Kiwi basketball player currently. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 07:32, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
