Merger proposal with Interstate 690[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I propose a merger between this page and the page for Interstate 690, as the two routes are essentially the same route, just with different systems of maintenance. There are other examples of Wikipedia pages for such routes, such as Interstate 540 and North Carolina Highway 540 and Interstate 210 and State Route 210 (California). Oppose - I originally had the same idea for merging Interstate 390 with New York State Route 390, as well as Interstate 590 with New York State Route 590. However, the argument that I saw from a majority of commentators was the fact that there are no plans to make routes 390 or 590 fully Interstate, which also applies to route 690, whereas I-540 and NC-540 are planned to become fully Interstate (not sure about I-210 and CA-210, however). Also, NY-690 runs north-south while I-690 runs east-west, which makes this merger more complicated than 390 or 590 would have been. —WuTang94(user talk) 03:36, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
