Article Title spacing[edit]

What is the good reason behind the awkward space-dash-space between New York and New Jersey? Why is it New York - New Jersey instead of New York-New Jersey? This makes for an awkwardly unnecessary redirect to this title which seems to strike me as an conspicuous typographical quirk.ColonelHenry (talk) 13:13, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
