Release dates[edit]

The date shown for the release of New Police Story is Sep. of 2006, which is obviously not true. Was it 2005 or 2004?

In Hong Kong, it was released in 2004. In the US, it was released in May 2006. In the UK it is due for release in January 2007. Gram 08:09, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PC113, PC 138 What is it?[edit]

The synospsis is incorrect, "PC113" was already revealed to be an imposter in one scence where Wing walks into his superior's office and complains that he sent PC113 to watch over him. His surprised superior then informed him that he did no such thing, then "PC113" was arrested for impersonating a police officer. When the duo are going off to confront the robbers for the final time, Wing "breaks" PC113 out of custody, where the 2 walk out of the police station and everyone present quickly pretends not to see them......including Wing's superior who, face to face, hands Wing his revolver and tells him to go get the robbers. -- Question2

Article tenses[edit]

I disagree with parts of the synopsis being written in the past tense. Within my edits, I changed these to the present tense, but it has been reverted to past tense.

Although the events are in the character's past, shown via a flashback, it doesn't mean that the tense of the synopsis should change to past tense. Regardless of when events occur in the timeline of the film, they still unfold for the viewer as you watch the film and should read as such. If someone was describing a film to you as it was happening, they would say "now the timeline moves back to the past. We see Chan disguising himself as a news cameraman". That is how the synopsis should read - from a viewers point of view, not from the character's point of view. You don't need to be reminded at every verb that you're talking about past events!

If part of the film were set in the future, would you write "Chan will disguise himself" "a bank will be robbed" etc? Gram 15:59, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, you are really willing to go as far as discussing the tenses used in the paragraph? Well, never mind, I compromise on this part. (Don't want such trivial matters to be turned into a molehill.)

Oh, anyway, what are the names of two of the gang members? I could only remember Fire (red haired one), Max (the computer geek) and Joe, the leader. What are the names of the female gang member and the mandarin speaking martial arts fighter? --Kylohk 17:54, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Joe Kwan" is played by Daniel Wu (Wu Yin Cho)
"Fire" is played by Terence Yin (Yin Chi Wai)
"Sue Chow" is the female gang member, played by Coco Chiang
"Tin Tin Law" is the Mandarin speaking gang member, played by Andy On (On Chi Kit)
