Exactly. Even if you can find sources, do you think a statement such as "renowned" or "best in the world" should be part of an encyclopedic article? --Karljoos (talk) 13:37, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I invite the editors who posted the claims of prestige and greatnest (even when well sourced), to visit the article about other conservatoires such as London's Royal Academy of Music, Juilliard School in NY and Conservatoire de Paris (note how, although also often refered as "prestigious" and "great", the articles don't make claims of greatness and prestige). Jordan Hall

This is not very encyclopedic:

Jordan Hall, NEC's 1,019 seat central performing space, and one of the world's greatest recital stages.

Please provide references or delete it. Saying that it is "the best" or "one of the best" is not something to be found in a good article --Karljoos (talk) 23:28, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

List of faculty

Composition Department

I think that it doesn't make sense having a separated article about the NEC Composition Department. I don't even think there should be an article about the department (the tone is closest to a prospectus/brochure/viewbook than to an article). I think it should be a section on this article or should be removed from Wikipedia. Thank you--Karljoos (talk) 16:35, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

It seems like there has not been any work done on this article in a while. I have taken it upon myself to work on this article, primarily by adding content, as I am a current student and have access to quite a lot of research material. Early History

The early history section doesn't read very well and appears to be incomplete...

The article states that Tourjee attempted to start NEC in Boston in 1853. From all of the documentation I've read he started the Providence Conservatory of Music in Providence, in 1853. The school moved to Boston in 1867, and accepted as New England Conservatory in 1870.

Does anyone object to me reworking this section?
