English or Indian or Both?[edit]

The article says he was an English businessman. Is that correct? His son is an Indian businessman and his father was an Indian businessman. --regentspark (comment) 12:50, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

He was born during the British Raj, when India was politically under the control of Britain. Therefore anyone born in India at this time was simultaneously Indian and British.

Bombay or Mumbai?[edit]

Obviously, Mumbai is simply the modern name for Bombay. It is therefore common practice to refer to the city by either name depending on which historical era it occupies in the incident under discussion. But in the article, there is at least one instance where it is called Bombay and Mumbai in the same sentence. Can we please try to be consistent? Nuttyskin (talk) 10:05, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
