Road name origins[edit]

The statements about the origins of the names "Chainhouse Road" and "The Causeway" were assigned the following reference: [1]. You can see a 2013 snapshot of that site here. I found a new version of the site with substantially the same content. It does mention the origin of the names "Chainhouse" and "Chainbridge", but not of "The Causeway". The online etymology dictionary disagrees with this account of the history of the word "causeway"; it is possible that the road was at one time called "the corpseway", but this has the feel of folk etymology to me. I'm not a Wikipedia expert, so I'm not sure if the new site qualifies as a good source for the statement about "Chainhouse Road". jej1997 (talk) 19:24, 30 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
