Copyright violation?[edit]

The bulk of this article claims to be sourced by mht.maryland.gov, a poor quality scan of a typewritten document. A better scan is available at npgallery.nps.gov. That document might be public domain under {{PD-USGov}} or some similar rule - I'm not a copyright expert.

However, the text of the article is much longer than the text in that typewritten document; it doesn't come from there. Also, the text of the article contains unusual hyphenation and spacing errors such as win-dows and weatherboar d - it looks like a copy-paste from a scan of some other typewritten or printed document. So, not only does the article need better sourcing, but the current version of the article might well be a copyright violation. -- John of Reading (talk) 09:09, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@John of Reading, https://mht.maryland.gov/secure/medusa/PDF/Caroline/CAR-36.pdf is a longer version of the nomination form that includes additional text that was apparently not included in the final NRHP nomination submitted to the NPS. As a State of Maryland, I don't believe it is free use. This should definitely be rewritten. MB 15:00, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MB: Thank you. I've deleted the copy-pasted text. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:32, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
