Untitled[edit]

I added the cleanup tag because this article basicly reads like a PR release. The alternative was to nominate it for deletion as a vanity page.

Huh? It reads about the same as any muscian page I've seen. What's the problem with it? Chiok 20:24, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've made several changes but I still don't know what you didn't like about the article, so I don't know if I fixed it or not. If not, can you please explicitly say what you didn't like. Chiok 03:28, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I also find the text quite normal - if our friend of the original comment can help by giving us a non-destructive example of what he means purhaps we can try to work his thinking into what we are writing. Assuming it is our text that is a problem of course. Kevinalewis 16:30, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
With no further discussion from the anonymous tagger, I am removing the cleanup tag. Mitchell k dwyer 20:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sources?[edit]

I think this page needs a tag for lacking source information - there is no documentation about the alleged healing of his daughter on the page. (Personally, i'm all for believing it, but if it's unsubstantiated then it needs to go.) Paulgear (talk) 08:34, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CProg[edit]

This is an interesting tidbit, but I wonder if simply a one-sentence mention, Wikilinking to a Cprog article, would make more sense. We seem to be veering quite a bit off topic in this section. Comments? Mitchell k dwyer 20:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, it would make more sense. Since there isn't a Cprog article yet, I put it here. If someone wants to start a cprog article, then by all means move the comment to there. Chiok 05:44, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

I just found out that Neal Morse was on a CD by a band called the 'Wade Brown Trio'. I don't have any information on it yet, so I haven't added it to the discography. I believe the members of the Trio are also members of Neal's church. While I am on the topic, there is a bootleg called 'Neal Morse Plays Pink Floyd' from 2003. I'm not sure if we want to add bootlegs here as bootlegs are rarely mentioned on wikipedia. I believe it was a Erik Norlander & Mark McCrite project for a company where the a guitarist can add their own guitar bits (kinda like karaoke for guitarists) that Neal Morse sings on. Other bootlegs I have include a 2003 Testimony bootleg from Rijssen Holland, 2005 bootleg @ Ede The Netherlands 02/02/05, and Live @ Metuchen. I also have two Christmas tracks from 2004 that Neal Morse put on his website and the singles also from the website. Chiok 22:17, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I wouldn't have thought that these are notable enough to have them included on this encyclopedia. If we were talking about the alternative recordings or bootlegs of artist like the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd etc then yes the best known should be mentioned, and I think are. But not Neal's. They are of interest to fans like us, but I don't think this is the place for them. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His first solo Album?[edit]

Why is it on non-progressive rock albums when on it's page it is under progressive rock. Mabey someone should clarify that as Christian Progressive Rock or change it's section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.29.31 (talk) 07:02, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is consistent now - let me know if not. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2009[edit]

Hi - can someone more knowledgeable than I update this article especially wrt Transatlantic reunion and 2010 tour especially vis a vis how his inclusion ties in with his beliefs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.112.172 (talk) 23:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Performers of Christian Music?[edit]

He is in that category, but is his solo stuff Christian music or just his music with a different slant? 64.234.0.101 (talk) 21:38, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From 2003 onwards his solo work is solely composed of Christian music, specially the Worship Sessions albums. --Lashiec (talk) 14:37, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genres[edit]

I think Progressive metal should be mentioned - anyone agree? Some of his output is certainly befitting of prog metal - most of 'Sola Scriptura' for example, but also a lot of '?', 'One' and 'Momentum', and whichever other albums I've forgotten to mention.

Granted, most of his music is prog rock - not dissimilar to Genesis, just a bit heavier - but when you've got heavily-distorted chugging riffs and shredding a-la Dream Theater, there's no question in my mind that it's well into metal territory. And there's more than enough of Neal's music that falls into that category, IMO. Definitely deserves to be one of the mentioned genres.

Heavily-distorted chuggin riffs on Question Mark? Which tracks? Duncan3dc (talk) 09:50, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- In the Fire and Solid as the Sun come to mind. There are probably more as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.37.7.247 (talk) 18:27, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your version of the CD must be very different to mine. Can you find a source for the Metal genre anywhere? Duncan3dc (talk) 09:10, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

is he related...[edit]

.... to either of the other morses he's played with, named in the article? does it warrant a 'no relation' tag if not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.171.226.86 (talk) 18:30, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article currently reads "Morse founded Spock's Beard together with his brother Alan". Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:04, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
