About the site[edit]

  • The paragraph about the site of Naxos is quite wrong concerning the remains. It says "there are now no extant remains of the ancient city". Indeed there has been quite some archaeological studies and excavations made since 1854 and the publication of the Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography. This resource is probably well documentated and usable (with caution) for the historical part, however for the actual state of the site it cannot be considered as a suitable source.

One note, without reviewing the whole text: actually, archaeological excavations and remains are present on the site, although limited compared with other Greek city remains in Sicily. 216.254.1.230 (talk) 19:55, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
