Oh, I am so wounded by your harsh assessment. This could have all been avoided if you had simply removed what was clearly trolling. Instead, you come to the talk page and start chest thuping about how you've 'done enough research'. Just quietly remove it, click and move on. If someone contests it, then discuss it. There was nothing controversial about removing obvious vandalism.
