Untitled[edit]

I removed the redirect to this page from "Union catalog," to create a general page regarding union catalogs. It mentions this page, so perhaps the NUC should be merged into the general page? Then again, I can't imagine merging the NUC "into" anything! --Mdresser 21:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After completing a major re-write to address this article's "stub" status, I think it should remain separate from the "Union catalog" article. --Mdresser 05:29, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion[edit]

The user Ddhickey commented in his edit that "The article confused the National Union Catalog, a serial publication in several parts, with the National Union Catalog of Pre-1956 Imprints, a monographic set. I've tried to correct that." I am not certain that these are actually different things--is there a citation to a "National Union Catalog" sans "Pre-1956..."? Well, when I was reading the first paragraph I had a problem with, "...or by title for books that have no author, such as the Bible." It is true that the NUC does list the many editions of the Bible, however what is not correct is the point that the Bible has no author. The Bible has many authors. Looking at the Tanakh (Old Testament) one can see traces of collaborative authorship. Though not listed as the authors, officially, we still can say that the Bible has many authors. "No" is very strong. I would suggest maybe "some" or "many". Blackteebox (talk) 14:44, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
