Lone Aspen[edit]

Lone Aspen is a historic home located on Rt. 43 south of town. Listed in the historic homes of Bedford Co. Built in 1855. It was the home of Robert Parker who served under Lee and is credited with being the last man killed at Appomattox. There is a book written called "Lee's last casualty". As a footnote it was built be the first cousin of Mark Twain. This home should be listed in the National Registry. Thank you. 184.21.45.179 (talk) 15:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
