It tries to document the workings of the police in the Netherlands, and the relationship of the police with other Dutch organisations.

When translation specific Dutch terms with no direct English equivalent, I've erred on the cautious side, mostly by using the Dutch term and provinding a translation in parentheses.

I took some time to address obvious translation problems. Such as the English term for the 'Regiokorpsen' I used Regional Constabulary, to stay in line with the accepted English (UK) for such a formation. I did the same with the KMar ranks. I added the British military rank and the proper Dutch translation. This can get confusing because of the KMar being a mounted corps and thus using 'Wachtmeester' where the British 'Sergeant' would be used. This is confounded by the 'Opperwachtmeester' being the equivalent of a Sergeant Major, but actually being equal in rank to a WO1. I tried to solve this by adding some extra information in the enumeration. I made it so that the comparison of ranks and terms now approached NATO comparisons of relative ranks as much as possible (policeranks not being part of NATO, obviously; but the KMar is). Another point I changed was the use of terms for specialist police formations. I changed the English translation to something approaching the UK standard for these formations. The Netherlands police service has been reorganized.

Since 1st of January 2013 the police organization is reorganized to 'Nationale Politie' (= National Police). I do not know enough to make changes to the article. NB The obsolete 'Rijkspolitie' is also referred to as National Police, but literally it is more like Police of the Realm.

I made a first start with updating the page accordingly. It still requires a lot more work. Also the page Korps landelijke politiediensten needs revision User:NovemberLima 21:33, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

  I believe so because in the us a corps usually refers to something within an agency, for example the marine corps and the noaa commissioned corps. Not to mention most people just call it dutch national police. If you don’t agree would you be willing to move the page to police in the Netherlands just like what Finland Denmark and Armenia have.   The marine corps is part of the navy, that’s also why it is the only corps In The branches of the us armed forces, also en.wikipedia.org is a shared community for all English speakers, that includes the us. Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT)

While the task force has disclosed that the Dutch are part of the VGT, the date that their membership started, and the Memorandum of understanding or other agreements/treatise that confirmed their membership have not been able to obtained from any of the member countries as of yet or from any press releases or investigative news sources. Further, how many cases in other countries or in the Netherlands have been initiated as part of their membership in this task force is also unclear. An example case in 2022, the police in Rotterdam arrested a 43 year old man as a result of a Tip from the United States regarding a Tor Chat site referred to as TorPedoChat.
