Proposal to expand article[edit]

As a regular 'user' of the NOS, I would suggest that the following items might be helpful additions:

  1. A note on who owns/authors the NOS - i.e Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) and Standard-Setting Organisations (SSOs) - with appropriate links. I'm familiar with this process in the ICT and Business Administration domains but not other areas, so input would be appreciated.
  2. An expansion of the 'Using NOS' section to note the fact that it is a requirement for all units and qualifications submitted to the Qualifications and Credit Framework to be NOS-mapped; this expands the educational applications far beyond the NVQs and SVQs which are mentioned, which is (in my view, I admit) likely to mean that learning and education providers increasingly see NOS mappings in course-ware etc., and will increasingly need to be familiar with them.

I haven't made many substantial edits on Wikipedia before, so any comments, debate or advice would be most welcome before I start making changes. --Davenport96 (talk) 13:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
