Proper name of the company and the companies they represent.[edit]

The proper name of the company is "National Airways Corporation". This is reinforced by their acronym "NAC" which is also used as their website domain name "www.nac.co.za". It is also much more than just an airline, in fact their "airline activities" are a minor component of what they do. It is a very diversified aviation company, besides the dealerships and agencies they also operate a number of flying schools, including the largest civilian flying school in the whole of Africa. Some of the companies NAC represents in Southern Africa are: Beechcraft, Hawker, Bell Helicopters, Robinson Helicopters, Diamond Aircraft, Tecnam, Pacific Aerospace, Daher-Socata, etc. Roger (talk) 12:24, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I propose moving this article per WP:COMMONNAME. The company is always referred to by the full name including the word "corporation" or the acronym "NAC". No reliable source I have ever seen says "National Airways" or "NA".

The name National Airways Corporation is already taken for a New Zealand based airline. I believe both should therefore be moved to use parenthetical disambiguation: National Airways Corporation (South Africa) and National Airways Corporation (New Zealand). The continued use of National Airways without "Corporation" for this article is misleading and violates WP:Commonname. Roger (talk) 19:16, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would make National Airways a disambiguation page - which makes sense IMHO. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:37, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with The Bushranger, dab by country is sensible here. Mjroots (talk) 17:51, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done Got around to it at last. Please check that I've done all the necessary moves and edits correctly - disambiguation, hatnotes, etc. I don't do such moves often so I might have missed, or messed up, something. Roger (talk) 12:07, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
National Airways refers also to National Airways Cameroon, National Airways Gabon and National Airways Ethiopia (not abbreviated by NAC), not only to National Airways Corporation (abbreviated by NAC). So, it is now more logical to have a distinct National Airways page -- Denis.arnaud (talk) 08:31, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
