Children or young adult?[edit]

Nor should it. This is an error promoted by marketers of books, not real booksellers, librarians or readers. In this case, the book is written for bright, highly literate children, teenagers, young adults, and geezers like me. --Ampwright (talk) 16:12, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Octopus[edit]

It says that Dawkins was bitten by a tree-climbing octopus, but in the book it says simply that it "had [him] by the leg," which could mean that he was grabbed and not bitten.Zaporozhian (talk) 20:23, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dating[edit]

Did anyone read the Author's Note? As usual, Sir Terry will not allow you to pin down time or location. If it were the 1870s, no one would be using flintlocks, and where cost was no object, a steamship would be more likely than the Cutty Wren. Tree Climbing Octopus[edit]

I always thought it meant "spider". wouldnt that make sense? i mean they thought Daphne had no toes cause she was wearing shoes, a large spider has 8 legs as an octopus has 8 tentacles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.13.157 (talk) 04:07, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
