"Despite his British accent ..."[edit]

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache is described in Penny's novels as having a British accent--apparently RP, rather than Oxbridge, despite his having learned the language during his time studying at Oxford in England. I can't cite the page or even the specific novel where the latter is stated, and in a later novel he contradictorily remembers his father reciting an English-language verse. (No, don't know which that one is, either.) But Clara Morrow repeatedly and consistently notices that unCanadian accent.

All of the above is, I suppose, "original research" since it's from the novels. I can't put it on Gamache's page, where info from the books would be acceptable, because it doesn't exist. And I won't put it on Penny's page, because it doesn't fit well.

So I'm putting the info here, where it can be found. Would have been nice if Ms. Penny, a producer of the piece, had told Parker something he might have liked to know. GeorgeTSLC (talk) 17:57, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
