Clean up: biography and poetic works[edit]

Hi, I have consolidated, cleaned up, and cited the biography and poetic works section of this article. The previous approach contained multiple "biography" sections biographical events, with some sections being a heavy synopsis of a single reference vs other areas not being referenced at all

Most importantly, I've consolidated two biography sections into one cohesive section that includes both the "study of biography" as well as biographical events based on available literature. Have tried my best to preserve the original content where it made sense, but I've inserted it into the relevant areas to help the overall biography flow. I've also added structure where appropriate to reflect other wiki pages of notable poets/writers. Lastly there I've added content to more closely reflect the the available references and pivotal moments that defined his legacy. Please let me know if any questions or other suggestions on the approach. Note: formatting consistencies (i.e., italicizing appropriate words) are still a WIP. Thank you for copyediting it. I have done some minor cleanup as well. Please ask me if you have any questions. Regards, Nizil (talk) 11:33, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Veracity of the letter[edit]

File:Narsih Mehta Letter111.jpg
Letter by Narsinh Mehta on death of his mother

SKAG123, the image of letter on left was recently added to the article. I believe it that it is a fake letter judging from the alphabets, style, use of years and other things like brackets, surname (Vastraj Oza). Many of these writing features were late addition to Gujarati language and 15th century Gujarati was completely different. So this image is removed. Please give your opinion.- Nizil (talk) 06:51, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Gazal world Please give your opinion as you have worked extensively on Gujarati writers too.- Nizil (talk) 06:53, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes the image is unsourced. SKAG123 (talk) 07:01, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This letter doesn't seems real. Scholars on Narsinh Mehta like Shivlal Jesalpura, Jethalal Trivedi, K. M. Mushi, K. K. Shastri, Jayant Kothari, Darshana Dholakia, Françoise Mallison and others have never mentioned this letter. We can only use this letter when it is referenced in a scholarly research. We should also nominate it for deletion under 'Commons:Out of scope', so that people don't get misinformation. --Gazal world (talk) 20:24, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
