Old text without a section[edit]

"The tiara, which cost 180,000 francs in 1804, was valued at $50,000 in 1903." Those figures seem very unrealistic : an object made of precious metal and gems and valued at 180,000XFO 1804 canot be worth 50,000USD in 1903. What sources for this figure ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.149.111.10 (talk) 15:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Silliness with the "Emperor of the French"[edit]

While there is a tendency in speaking to refer to rulers as ruling a people, rulers in actuality rule nations/states, etc. While it is certainly possible to find a reference that will use the informal, it is sophistry. There were at the time of Nappy's rule French people who were citizens of many other nations, and His Shortness did not rule them. He ruled his self-proclaimed empire.Shajure (talk) 13:49, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is also a title, among several he gave himself... so... more sophistry but it seems important to some editors.Shajure (talk) 13:58, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was the title that was used at his coronation. There is no silliness in a fact. I would suggest you read Wikipedia:NOTVANDALISM to gain an understanding as to what is and is not vandalism, and to understand why someone changing Emperor of France to Emperor of the French in good faith would never be considered vandalism, even if that person was dead wrong in changing it. - SudoGhost (talk) 19:39, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
