from NCAA sports[edit]

I moved this table to talk and put the full information on the page at least that way all the info is there it not as pretty as the table but until the table is finished all the info is on the pageSmith03 03:59, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored it and divided the information into 2 sections. I might come back to reformat the rest of it some time. ReeseM 02:43, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"NCAA championship" before NCAA[edit]

Gentlemen, there is something VERY odd about this list of "NCAA Division I" championships. The NCAA's immediate predecessor, the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States (IAAUS), was established in 1906. The NCAA was founded in 1910. NCAA Division I was established in 1973, at the same time as Division II and III. Since these obvious inaccuracies make this article substantively misleading, someone needs to rewrite it in order to eliminate these serious problems. John Reid (1898)[edit]

I doubt the winner of the 1898 was the John Reid linked in the article. John Reid with the Wikipedia article was born about 1870 which would place him at about 28 at the time of the tournament, an age that would be most unusual. As a professional golfer, he probably would have been ineligible to play in a college tournament. Keyton (talk) 23:38, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
