– Having both Muzzle device and Muzzle (device) is just weird and confusing. Propose:

  1. Move Muzzle to Muzzle (disambiguation)
  2. After page move above, redirect Muzzle to Snout per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC
  3. Move Muzzle (device) to Muzzle (mouth guard) per WP:NCDAB. These can cover human mouths, not just animals. "Device" fails to disambiguate it from many other muzzle devices. The OED uses the phrase "openwork guard"
  4. Move Muzzle device to Muzzle attachment (disambiguation). There are many "muzzle devices", including mouth guards. Front sights are also devices on a gun's muzzle, or muzzle devices, but they're not muzzle attachments such as flash suppressors or silencers.
  5. Spit hood/spit mask should include not just human versions, but those used for camels and llamas.
  6. Hatnotes all around

  • Oppose the first two as there is no primary topic. I agree that muzzle (device) is a bad title. I'm not sure why muzzle device needs to exist, and it doesn't qualify as a dab page. —Xezbeth (talk) 17:14, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Muzzle device was just created today mainly to disambiguate six kinds of firearms muzzle devices, along with the mouth guard. It's what made me notice all of this. How is snout/muzzle/animal mouth not the primary topic of muzzle? It is the original meaning of the word, an animal's mouth, from which by extension derives a mouth guard or covering, the opening of a gun, or anything else that dispenses anything. Currently Muzzle is (unintuitively) a disambiguation page, whereas the accurate and unambiguous name for the muzzle dab page is Muzzle (disambiguation). --Dennis Bratland (talk) 18:48, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • The topic at Snout is not the primary topic for "muzzle" due to the dearth of any evidence that people searching with "muzzle" are most likely looking for the snout article. --В²C 17:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose 1 and 3 merge the new extra dab into the current dab. Support 2 In ictu oculi (talk) 23:47, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose 1 -- no primary topic (note that being the original meaning is not being the primary topic WP:DETERMINEPRIMARY, and we don't use (disambiguation) in disambiguation titles where there is no primary topic). Neutral on 2 -- either qualifying phrase is workable, although I think "device" is simpler. Merge and re-redirect 3 merge dab content from Muzzle device to Muzzle (and put partial title matches in See also), then retarget Muzzle device to Muzzle (device). -- JHunterJ (talk) 13:40, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. No evidence that snout is the primary topic for muzzle. --В²C 17:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose 1, no primary topic. Support 2, clearer and avoids confusion with the gun attachment. Oppose 3. Better to merge the DAB content from Muzzle device into Muzzle and redirect "Muzzle device" and "Muzzle (device)" to the DAB as {{R from incomplete dab}}s and create "Muzzle attachment", "Muzzle (attachment)", and "Muzzle attachment (disambiguation)" to the DAB as well. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 00:01, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment It looks like my solution isn't going over very well, but don't let that stop anyone from propsing one or more other ways of cleaning up this situation. These dab pages and redirects obviously need work, so do fix them. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 02:51, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
