I removed Pierre de Beaumont from the "author" section of the infobox for the following reasons:

  1. He was listed in the "current" section of the infobox, which is supposed to be for "The person currently responsible for the strip, if different from author/creator". de Beaumont died in 2010 and thus isn't currently responsible for the strip.
  2. de Beaumont inherited the strip from his mother, Aedita, who was Bud Fisher's (estranged) widow and died in 1985. But by 1985, the strip was no longer being published. Pierre de Beaumont's role would have been to hold the copyright for the no-longer-in-publication strip.
  3. de Beaumont was an engineer and businessman, founder of the Brookstone retail chain. I haven't seen any sources that indicate that he ever wrote or drew the "Mutt and Jeff" strip in his life, even though it had been owned by his stepfather and later his mother. For most of de Beaumont's adult life, either Al Smith was in charge of creating the strip or the strip wasn't in publication at all. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 20:14, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Brickhill[edit]

I'm pretty sure the test pilots referred to by Brickhill in “The Dam Busters” are Joseph “Mutt” Summers and Maurice “Shorty” Longbottom, but Guy Gibson did refer to Mutt (Summers) and Jeff (a thinly-disguised Barnes Wallis) in “Enemy Coast Ahead”.
