Needs Attention[edit]

This article is a mess - poorly formatted and saturated with links to non-existant articles (not to mention some that are blatantly wrong, i.e. Charles Hutton) I'm no expert on the subject, but it still needs to be cleaned up. I'll try my best whenever I find time...

I'm going to suggest completely rearranging the way this article is presented. It should be presented by different genres, not by chronological order. A heavy emphasis on folk music is necessary, as is the inclusion of french folk music, followed by other genres (rock, classical, jazz, country, etc.) Also am I the only one even reading this Talk page? --Crabbyass 07:13, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote much of what's here, based on the sources available at the time. I've now got at least one book with which I could expand significantly on folk music, but I haven't yet got around to doing so. Tuf-Kat 07:40, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There ought to be a little information on the ugly stick, as it is an instrument unique to Newfoundland.--Zippo 03:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just created an article on the Ugly stick, please have a go to improve it. HJKeats 14:26, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but if I am correct, Stompin' Tom Conners has been omitted from this list. I thought he was a Newfie. If he ain't, well at least he sung a few songs about them, such as "The man in the Moon is a Newfie." Just a thought. If I can contribute in any way, I'll try.--Buffhistorian (talk) 01:38, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Noted musicians list[edit]

This is an unsourced list of apparently mostly non-notables. I'm going to trim it to entries with Wikipedia articles. Meters (talk) 03:04, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
