Final Fantasy V Advance — Music Player[edit]

Since the Wikipedia articles use translated track names (for the most part), I would like to post what I believe to be the most official English track listing available. If anyone refutes this with iTunes, I'd point out that some track names have missing letters ("Mgitek Research Facility") or wrong words ("In Search of the Main in Black"), making it only reliable with interpretation.

These track name where taken from the Music Player of the North American version of Final Fantasy V Advance.

FFAnthology OST contradiction[edit]

This article says that the soundtrack was released on October 5, then claims that it was only available with FFAnthology. But FFAnthology was, according to its article, released in September 30. So... which date is correct? Kariteh 17:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it is a contradiction. I remember that when I bought Final Fantasy Anthology, about a year or two after its initial release, I had talked to someone else who had gotten the game immediately after it hit the shelves and he said that there was no soundtrack included with it. So I'm thinking that the soundtrack was only included with later releases of the game. –Nahald 23:52, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold[edit]

This is my first GA nomination review, it's a great article to be reviewing so hopefully this will turn out well.

Here's what's already passed:

  • It's broad in coverage.
  • The article is factually accurate and verifiable.
  • The article is neutral.
  • The article is stable.
  • The article has relevant images (and sound files) which have fair use rationales and are tagged correctly.

The only remaining criteria is:

  • It is well written.

It is well written, but there's some things that could do with expansion or rewording.

  • Lead - second paragraph is very short and could be expanded with links to and details of the actual concerts where the music was played. Not in great detail but a reader just getting a taste for the subject by reading the lead might be interested in the specific concerts.
  • Concept and creation - a few rewordings and cuts here:
    • "but he managed" it's already established that the composer is the subject of this sentence.
    • "He claims to have come up" 'come up' is too casual. 'Claim' isn't the right word. As far as concept is concerned, the word of the creator is pretty much final (unless we're talking about a copyright theft court case), so long as it is cited to a reliable source. Could you just state this as fact and cite it?
    • ""much better"" - does this need quoting with speech marks? Doesn't seem worth the emphasis.
    • "He also claimed that" not needed.
    • "being pushed to two" - how about "requiring two"?
    • "a result that he would have preferred in order to keep the price of the album low." could this be split off and reworded as a sentence? Having three separate aspects to this sentence makes it a bit bumpy to read.
  • Reception and legacy - could you attribute statements to the reviewers like you did in the FF4 music article? I know it's extra work, but since there's only one reviewer for one of the albums (see below) it seems necessary to point out who said what about which.
    • "Other reviewers, however, disagreed," doesn't need to be qualified with a 'however'.
    • "finding it to be fairly good" could you reword that somehow?
    • "Piano Collections Final Fantasy V, on the other hand, was well received by reviewers," Doesn't need comparing to the other albums with the qualifying statement. There's only one reviewer for this album. Would it be possible to add another sentence to the Piano Collections review statement, to give it some extra weight? Some quotes?

That's all I can come up with. I'll be watching this page, if there's any problem with what I've suggested please state it here or drop me a line on my talk page. Since this is my first review I hope you don't mind if I take one final scan after the above are settled one way or the other. I don't expect there will be anything else but I'd like to get it right first time. Thank you very much for all the hard work you've put in. Someoneanother 23:33, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I've addressed all your concerns, I've left you a note on your talk page about it. Thank you! --PresN (talk) 03:50, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I made a single tweak, hope that's OK. It's a pass, congratulations. Someoneanother 09:43, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
