Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was moved. Hardly an overwhelming consensus, but no real objections to the proposed forms after several weeks. --BDD (talk) 21:38, 30 October 2012 (UTC) (non-admin closure)[reply]

– Not capitalized in sources. [1] [2] relisting see below Andrewa (talk) 02:53, 23 October 2012 (UTC) Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 04:57, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support as per proposer, and also it doesn't appear to be an anagram so WP:MOSTM should apply. Zarcadia (talk) 19:40, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

  • Hold on... while those sources do use Mowag (capitalised initially-only), the manufacturer's website doesn't use Mowag at all [3] [4] [5] any more. Are we sure that the name is still in popular usage? Relisting. Andrewa (talk) 02:53, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • The name MOWAG seems to represent MOtorWagenfabrik AG. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:56, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Which isn't an anagram at all, is it? Perhaps it's just that the wrong term is used above. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks#General rules does read in part Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization rules, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official": avoid: REALTOR®, TIME, KISS instead, use: Realtor, Time, Kiss. Using all caps is preferred if the letters are pronounced individually, even if they don't stand for anything. For instance, use SAT for the (U.S.) standardized test. Andrewa (talk) 23:16, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "anagram" hereinabove could be an error for "acronym". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 12:10, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Most probably, yes. Which just leaves the question... The proposed rename appears to be an improvement, but is it the best we can do? No evidence either way as yet on this question. Andrewa (talk) 14:18, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

MOWAG Trucks are missing[edit]

This page contains just 50% or so of MOWAGs history and products.

There is no word about all the Civil Trucks MOWAG build, even that MOWAG made more than 500 Trucks for the Federal Swiss Postalservice. Whats about all the Firefighting Pickups (based on Dodge Pickups) and the Firefighting Trucks. Not a single word that MOWAG was for ages the sole Importer of Dodge Vans, and that MOWAG modified them to 4x4 wheels driven firefighter ,police and ambulance vans. What's about the Aircrafttugs they build for the Swiss Air Force. Also a list of former products is nice but I like to knew more about it. I have some informations but this pace can't be edited and is totaly outdatet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.181.96.121 (talk) 17:52, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested rewrite and redirect to General Dynamics European Land Systems[edit]

Seeing as MOWAG has been part of GDELS for over a decade, perhaps the GDELS page needs to be created and this content can by added in there.
