I am reviewing this article's good article candidacy, and will have a full review up shortly. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 01:22, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My review is complete, and I have decided to place the article on hold for the following reasons:

I have seven concerns with referencing/inline cites:

  • All the references in the History section are in the last paragraph.
Added references and moved some information to more appropriate sections.Mehmet Karatay (talk) 07:49, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 08:18, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added reference Mehmet Karatay (talk) 09:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that the second half of the single paragraph in the Gĩkũyũ section needs a reference because
  • The Ameru section has no references.
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 21:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The fourth paragraph in the zones section has no references.
Added reference Mehmet Karatay (talk) 09:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first paragraph in the Flora section needs a reference.
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 09:50, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The second paragraph in the Fauna needs a reference.
Added reference Mehmet Karatay (talk) 09:50, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The first and paragraphs in the Seasons section need references.
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 21:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:03, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:13, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The second paragraph in the Sirimon Route section has no reference.
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:13, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:51, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:51, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Among the Other huts around the mountain, Mountain Rock Bantu Lodge, Naru Moru River Lodge, Naro Moru Youth Hostel, and Rutundu Log Cabins have no references.
Added references Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:51, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Among the Books about Mount Kenya, only Fuga sul Kenya/No Picnic on Mount Kenya have references. Indeed, I am not sure this section is even necessary, and removing it would be completely fine with me.
Hid this section. It can be put back in if anyone wants to improve it. For now I will focus on the other points. Mehmet Karatay (talk) 10:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And three regarding coverage/comprehensiveness:

  • For the Kamweti Route, has anyone investigated why the route is the way it is, or why it may be impassable?
Updated this section. Mehmet Karatay (talk) 19:47, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The table in the Climbing routes is not complete; see for example the climbing seasons column.
Completed the table. Mehmet Karatay (talk) 20:01, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is nothing about the geology of Mount Kenya; what kind of rock is it made out of? What is its possible eruptive history (for example, was it explosive, effusive, and so on)?
Added section on geology. Mehmet Karatay (talk) 19:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Once these are fixed I will be happy to promote the article. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 06:06, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reviewing this article Miss Madeline. I have fixed all the suggestions you made. If there is anything else you feel needs work please let me know and I will try to sort it out. Mehmet Karatay (talk) 21:58, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for the delay in promoting it, but I think it meets the criteria now, so I am promoting it now. Good job and keep up the good work. In the meantime you might want to review some other GA nominee. Miss Madeline | Talk to Madeline 18:12, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
