Copied Text[edit]

The introduction to this article was pretty much copied word-for-word from Motown's own sales pitch, and a citation listed here is one cannibalized from another Wikipedia page. Really, we can do better than this... --TheSlyFox (talk) 11:04, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is completely untrue, every word in the opening text is written from known common facts about Motown and can be found almost anywhere. The text was written as an introduction to Motown Chartbusters and describes the run up to the release. It would be better if something constructive could be added, instead of negative and unnecessary comments. e.g. Album covers. --raytelford (talk) 12:24, 25 February 2011 (gmt+2)
The best way forward here would be for this article to remain, but for the details on each of the individual albums - notable enough in their own right, in my view, though others may take a different view - to be hived off into separate articles on each. There would seem to be no reason why album cover images could not be uploaded - the key is to provide a rationale for their use in each case. "Commonly known facts" are, of course, not enough - we need verifiable and reliable sources, properly cited. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:11, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
