This woman is not Irish as she was born in the United States, her mother is Welsh, and the idea that her father is or was "totally Irish" is laughable since via genetics and DNA testing nobody is 100% of any heritage or ethnicity and Snyder is not an Irish last name at all, but is Germanic. She's just a plastic paddy who moved to Ireland and wants to pretend she's Irish to sell her poorly written novels. The statement that she is not Irish makes no sense since you contradict all of the Irish persons of their heritage in your very next sentence, so by your logic no one is 100% Irish, a good statement that could be applied ubiquitous to all cultures. Her father changed his name when attempting to get a job in New York , but shops had signs that read "No Irish need apply" which obviously discriminated heavily on the Irish Immigrants. By changing his last name to Snyder, it gave him an edge that allowed him to be employed.
