Boundaries[edit]

The constituency was created in 1918. The county was previously divided between three county constituencies (Northern, Southern, and Western) and one borough constituency (Monmouth Burghs). The county constituency returning two MPs was abolished at and earlier date (1832?). Laurel Bush 10:37, 30 July 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Naming issue for John Stradling Thomas[edit]

The election results for the 1970s refer to Sir John Stradling Thomas as "John Thomas", but for the 1980s go with "John Stradling Thomas" which is also how he is referred to in other parts of this article. I think for consistency it would be better to adopt one version throughout, and that John Stradling Thomas is better (this would seem to be how he was referred to in most contemporary reports and works I have seen by other MPs use the full name). However before making changes I thought it best to discuss the issue to see what other editors' views on the matter are. Dunarc (talk) 14:21, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Either is fine i reckon as long as it is consistent. Benawu2 (talk) 22:07, 29 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks I have standardised as John Stradling Thomas for now. Dunarc (talk) 14:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
