Untitled[edit]

Whitney-I think you did a great job of describing the physical layout of a mithraeum and what is was used for. You linked to the religion wiki page and found photos of different examples. Not sure what else to improve on. (Wmwright (talk) 23:49, 29 November 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Sean - Seconding Whitney's comment. The only thing I might suggest for now would be to somehow place more emphasis on the Mithraea in the Near East, but I'm honestly not sure how you'd do that without making the whole article seem slanted. Maybe you could provide short summaries of each site in the Near East. 02:57, 30 November 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iowa.Grad.13 (talkcontribs)

Veronica-You did a good job making this esoteric subject clear and approachable! My only suggestions would be to link a couple more words, notably "iconography," "solstice," "neoplatonic," "soul," and "afterlife." These additions may circulate your work a little more. Army kitchen...[edit]

"From the structure of the Mithraea it is possible to surmise that worshippers would have gathered for a common meal along the reclining couches lining the walls." - Sure, they were Roman army kitchens, and that's where they ate, too - just to be sure that they aren't poisoned, right? And eating bulls is nowadays still "en vogue", so I don't know what's so special about the "Mithraeums" - those places are only about eating. --178.197.227.178 (talk) 21:04, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

But heck, somehow the word "Mithraeum" consist of the German words "Mythos" (myth) and "Raum" (room) so that's probably why so many University acedemics waste tax money to invent stories about the Mithraeums. However, "Mittag" stands for "noon", so "Mithraeum" could also be traductioned as "lunch room". --178.197.224.190 (talk) 21:20, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ideas on Adding to the Article: "Mithraeum"[edit]

I would like to add a little more information and more citations, since I feel the original article might be lacking. A little background on those who worshiped at these temples would serve well to the page. There is only one citation within the entire article, so it would benefit to have more included.
