Article listed for deletion[edit]

There has been no independent confirmation that Mitch Malloy was ever in the band other than what he himself has said in some interview. This article appears to be poorly sourced. In addition, Mitch Malloy does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability in the field of music;

he has NOT been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.

he has NOT had a charted hit on any national music chart.

he has NOT had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.

he has NOT received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.

he has NOT released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).

he has NOT become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.

he has NOT won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury or Grammis award.

he has NOT won or placed in a major music competition.

he has NOT performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article.)

he has NOT been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network.

he has NOT been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network.

  • If he really released some solo albums, then the entry should stay on those merits. But the reference to Van Halen should either be deleted OR it should be pointed out that NO ONE from Van Halen has EVER confirmed that Malloy was ever a member of the band.74.107.138.40 (talk) 03:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think his entry is notable because he did have major label contract, and released charted albums. All his self-serving references to Van Halen and his supposed "try-out" should be deleted unless they can be confirmed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C41D:6AE0:5C82:DBB:A98B:43F1 (talk) 22:18, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
