Quality Standards Resolution[edit]

I volunteer my efforts to cleanup this article, as it relates to several articles I have written about. I will make efforts to fix and clean this article.

I understand many second-language speakers of english have insightful information to pass-on in regards to many articles (We are all very thankful for their interest and contributions). When said speakers grammatical understanding is below standard it would be thoughtful to seek assistance from other editors.

Tagging the article for assistance would be appropriate in these circumstances, rather than leaving a disorderly or uninterpretable article unattended.--Scottmcmaster 14:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Asian presence[edit]

According to the Dunkin' Donuts website, they have stores in Thailand as well:

There are over 6,000 Dunkin' Donuts worldwide in 30 countries. In the U.S. there are over 4,400 Dunkin' Donuts locations across 36 states. Internationally, there are over 1,700 Dunkin' Donuts locations in 29 countries. Dunkin' Donuts' most significant presence overseas is in the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, and Thailand.

Dunkin' Donuts and Mister Donut have a lot of stores here in the Philippines, they are not "expanding" per se, as they have conquered the Doughnut/Donut industry in the Philippines for years. But they have a new stiff competitor though, Gonut Donuts. Japanese slogan[edit]

I bought a couple of doughnuts last month - weird varieties but yummy - from an outlet in Shin-Osaka and I was charmed by the slogan on the tape used to seal the packaging: "Thanks, you Beautiful People!" Not sure if that's worthy of going in the article, but it sure smiled the socks off me! --Surgeonsmate 01:17, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mister donut.jpg[edit]

Image:Mister donut.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. US Locations[edit]

The article used to list a location at "5234 Summit Bridge Rd., Middletown, Delaware" among those that were still called "Mister Donut". I visited this location yesterday and found that it was called Dunkin' Donuts (I'm pretty certain that I was at the correct address, and there aren't just two donut stores in the area). So I removed this address from the article. I also edited the paragraph a bit.

I considered the possibility that the paragraph meant to say that the listed locations did not change their names at the same time as most other locations did, but have done so since. If this is the case, I wonder whether a list of the addresses is necessary at all. IMO it would be fine to leave it at "nine locations retained the Mister Donut name for a time", or even to omit mention of this fact entirely.

I'd be interested to know whether the rest of this list is still accurate. —Triskaideka 18:39, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Philippines[edit]

The section on Japan and Asia says "Mister Donut overtakes Philippines' own Dunkin' Donut to be the largest donut chain operator in the Philippines." But Dunkin' Donuts is not Filipino It is an American chain (founded by the brother of the founder of Mister Donuts and founded several years before Mister Donuts). --Bruce Hall (talk) 03:50, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
