Owned and operated[edit]

"The team is owned and operated by the Atlanta Braves."

... I thought surely that must be wrong, since the majority of minor league teams are owned by outside businessmen, and not by the Major League clubs ... but it's true!

"Operated by: Atlanta National League Baseball Club, Inc. Principal Owner: Ted Turner"

Score one for the author. -- JimGalaxy

  • The team is owned and operated by Liberty Media after they acquired the team, as well as the Atlanta Braves, from Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting unit in 2007. Per [1]

State of the stadium[edit]

the "state of the stadium" in greenville was not the issue. The braves wanted to move and this was merely an excuse, i had attended games at the stadium since my childhood and it was in fine condition. they wanted a new fancy stadium paid for by the taxpayers. -Mad_Gouki

All the news reports say it was because of the state of the stadium and Greenville, SC not wanting to fund a new one. The Greenville stadium is old. I'm sure 20 years from now the Braves will be gone from Mississippi, citing the same reasons. -- ALLSTAR ECHO 19:41, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
