Regarding Miss America / Madeline Joyce[edit]

To the person who will review this draft, I would like to specify that the section dealing with Madeline Joyce includes almost everything from her article, as I intend to nominate Miss America (Madeline Joyce) for deletion, since it has a very limited amount of secondary sources, and some of them barely mention the character. This is one of the main reasons I worked in that draft. I just wanted to add some clarification.

Thank you very much. Higher Further Faster (talk) 00:55, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

got it--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:45, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Um, why didn't you just move the other page and edit it? The obvious thing to do is merge the two pages rather than delete Miss America (Madeline Joyce to preserve edit history and attribution, and avoid any WP:OWN. Hiding T 20:49, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Before merging or deleting Miss America (Madeline Joyce), I wanted to know if anyone had another idea regarding the article. As a result, I created a discussion on the WikiProject Comics. But I never received enough feedback. Only one user responded, and they want to keep both articles the way they are. So, I just created Miss America (Marvel Comics).
I intended to nominate Miss America (Madeline Joyce) for deletion simply because, even with a guide like Wikipedia:Merging or Wikipedia:Moving a page, I am pretty sure that I would mess up at some point. I never make edits that are too "sophisticated" to avoid this kind of problem. To add the template "proposed deletion" is just easier for me.
I did not think about WP:OWN. But I never intended to claim ownership regarding someone else's work. An administrator asked me to follow Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia to avoid this situation, for instance. Higher Further Faster (talk) 22:32, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Higher Further Faster Makes sense, totally understand where you're coming from now. That said, my gut feeling is I wouldn't list it for deletion just due to the historical author attribution if this article copies information, it's better to do a merge and redirect. But I can pick that up when you're ready. Hiding T 12:36, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I understand. It would not be fair to ignore the amount of work other editors have made on Miss America (Madeline Joyce), and make it looks like everything comes from me when it is really not the case.
I think I copied everything that was really important from Miss America (Madeline Joyce). I prefer to let you chose what to do with this article, since I can see that you know that kind of stuff (so) much better than me. Higher Further Faster (talk) 13:33, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
