This page aims at discussing a book recently published by an important British writer, James Graham Ballard, a.k.a. J.G. Ballard. The book has been published by Fourth Estate early this year, and has been written by an author who already has an entry (and not a minor one) on the Wikipedia. Besides, the Ballard entry already mentions Miracles of Life, so I can't see no reason why a page should be created about this book. --James.kerans (talk) 16:30, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the speedy template as your argument seems convincing to me. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 16:35, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But what is the meaning of the notability tag? I mean, this book was among the 25 most sold books on Amazon.com for 4 weeks right after its publication, it has been positively reviewed by most UK newspapers, and its author is famous worldwide. I can't see why this entry should be merged or deletion. --James.kerans (talk) 17:02, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I feel that this is probably the last work of a British National Treasure - J.G. Ballard, who as James Kerans pointed out, is a HUGE best-seller in the U.K.
For those who don't know, Mr. Ballard was diagnosed with widespread terminal cancer in 2006, and is becoming VERY frail - to the extent that he has had to cancel some BBC interviews and public appearances. So my thoughts are that a Wiki Page solely devoted to "Miracles of Life" as a NOTABLE coda and tribute to this remarkable writer IS quite notable.
Furthermore, it is his ONLY nonfiction work, and as such is his REAL autobiography. How much more "notability" do you want? It IS his only purely- nonfiction work and will probably remain so, as he is under a literal medical death-sentnce as I write! I agree with Mr. Kerans that this entry IS "notable" and would only differ with his idea that it does NOT deserve a separate page, as one of Britain's greatest modern authors unflinchingly writes his only NON-fiction work- his autobiography! And certainly a link to it should be included on the Main Page devoted to Mr. Ballard's works and life 98.195.120.205 (talk) 20:46, 9 March 2008 (UTC) C[reply]
