TSR[edit]

I think the sentence "(including a skill point system which may have inspired TSR's 3rd edition of Dungeons and Dragons)" in the Background part is out of place without a source. I think it should either have a source, or be removed. --Mighty Jay 17:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Removed. BreathingMeat 22:46, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Creating characters[edit]

The article talks about choosing races and classes. However, in MMVI all PCs are human. Non-human characters aren't available until MMVII when dwarf, elf and goblin characters are playable. Captain Pedant 13:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. It's been so long since I've played that 6 and 7 just kind of run together in my brain. Nifboy 18:06, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting Screenshot[edit]

Is there some reason that the screenshot keeps being deleted? Maybe it's the lack of fair use rationale on the image page? I'll go add one. BreathingMeat 21:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Windows[edit]

I could have sworn this was created for play on Windows NT. That was one of the primary reasons I purchased it in 1998 when I first moved to Texas. Unfortunately I can't find anything online supporting this, and would have to find my box or CDs - although they are probably in storage.

Skill Limit[edit]

The article states that character skills can be taken up to a maximum of 63. This is incorrect; the skill level variable does indeed have that limit, due to the binary format (2^6 - 1 being the possible maximum), but the game actually enforces a limit of 60, when improving skills. The only way to get higher than that (and up to 63) is to edit the save file, i.e. cheat.

Hi. It should also be linked to [Category:Action role-playing video games], and its other parts too.--93.184.26.78 (talk) 19:57, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Easter eggs[edit]

The game also included a number of undocumented features, which have been discovered and circulated by the playing community over time:

    • One wall of the bank in New Sorpigal, when touched, grants the party a Fly scroll.
    • One upper wall of Buccaneer's Lair in New Sorpigal, when touched, activates a teleporter that transports the party to Dragonsand, next to the Shrine of the Gods.
    • The interior of the shrine, when touched on one wall, gives access to a secret dungeon with a floorplan based on the 3D0 offices. It is possible to receive a number of assists here, including a cube that casts Day of the Gods at a level that raises all characters' Seven Statistics to 256, and a cash dispenser that gives 1000gp provided this does not take the party cash above 10,000 (not counting any money deposited in the bank)
    • One room in the Shadow Guild Headquarters near Castle Stone, if properly negotiated, opens a secret room granting access to a teleporter to Free Haven, two dungeons near Castle Ironfist, and the entrance to the Guild HQ itself.
    • A secret room in the Temple of the Snake on Star Island near Blackshire does not appear on the automap, but only if the correct section of the wall is touched. It is home to Q, a fat robed humanoid who has by far the largest health total in the game and casts Finger of Death repeatedly. If Q is beaten, the party can gain a unique item that allows a monster's exact health total to be seen.
    • In some editions of the game, persistent clicking on the screen in a Guild would allow a character to learn a skill normally prohibited to that class.

Using a combination of these features and flagrant abuse of the save/reload facility, it is on record that a number of players claim to have completed the game in six days of game time. --Captain Pedant (talk) 17:49, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
