Errors[edit]

If this article is about the railway that ran from Divide to Cripple Creek, it contains two errors:

  • "Another segment is being converted to a multi-use trail connecting the Pikes Peak Greenway to Manitou Springs." (Manitou Springs is not near the route of the Midland Terminal.)
  • "U.S. Route 24 follows the former railroad's route over Ute Pass." (The Midland Terminal did not go over Ute Pass.)

I can confirm by offline resources that the Colorado Midland (the former railroad of the MT ostensibly referred to) continued through Divide, Colorado over the Ute Pass directly west of there on US 24 and on to Aspen. From Divide to Aspen was the largest single abandonment of railroad line in Colorado and--I thought--the USA up to 1918. I drive this route often enough and can visibly track the MT and CM roadbed, including Manitou Springs. The above user can contact me for maps, documentation, etc. The reason I haven't written this in the article itself is because my docs are put away at the moment and my visual reconnoitering is classic original research. --Srwalden (talk) 12:52, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship with Colorado Midland[edit]

Surely the shutdown of the Colorado Midland Railway in 1918 had an effect on the Midland Terminal Railway. Could someone add information about this? How was the Midland Terminal able to survive until 1949, when seemingly its main reason for existence (providing a connection to the Colorado Midland) ceased to exist in 1918? 75.163.129.243 (talk) 08:28, 30 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
