Article text[edit]

Per the SCDAH text in article is properly cited in accordance with guidelines that information "from this web site without prior permission, on the condition that you provide proper attribution of the source in all copies."--Pubdog (talk) 11:52, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly does say that here. However, the previous sentence is "The materials on this web site have been made available for use in research, teaching, and private study", and, with my extremely limited understanding of US PD copyrights, I don't think that publication in Wikipedia is any one of those three. So I'm going to ask Moonriddengirl or MER-C if they would take a look at this and give a more informed opinion than I am able to. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:56, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bringing in the precise text:

The materials on this web site have been made available for use in research, teaching, and private study. For these purposes, you may reproduce (print, make photocopies, or download) materials from this web site without prior permission, on the condition that you provide proper attribution of the source in all copies.

We are not reproducing (which is explicitly defined as printing, making photocopies or downloading materials) from the website for the purpose of research, teaching or private study, I'm afraid. :/ We are publishing content in an online publication that is licensed to allow modification and reuse by anyone for any reason, including commercially. Accordingly, we cannot reproduce their content outside of the restrictions of WP:NFC on the basis of that permission. The thing to do if somebody wants to use their content on Wikipedia would be to write them and ask them for explicit, usable license, in accordance with Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permissions. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:32, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
