Question[edit]

Hi MJL, can you please clarify the rationale behind your accept? WBGconverse 06:42, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Winged Blades of Godric: My assessment was that this article appears to fail WP:NACTOR but passess the WP:GNG. I therefore figured the likelihood this survives an WP:AFD to be greater than the chance of it failing. –MJLTalk 15:16, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
MJL, thanks.
And, which of the sources do satisfy RS (and thus, lend to a probable passage of GNG)?
FWIW, when an AfC reviewer faces some sources of questionable merit, he/she ought to check RSN. Accordingly, have you read this discussion? Can the result(s) be extrapolated to Theatermania.com and another two sources? Do you find any similar discussion for Playbill? Does this piece help any in further weeding of questionable sources? Are you aware that there exists innumerable sources in this particular area which does precious little except for reprinting Press-Releases and feeding gossip loops? @WBG: [Thank you for the ping] No previous discussions have shown indication that Playbill is unreliable (Considering they are pretty the authority on most broadway productions, I would consider them very much a WP:RS). The three sources that I felt best built the case for GNG were: Inside Edition, Huffpost, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. All three put the main focus on this actor in regards to her age and appearing on broadway. There being no obvious BLP violations, I did not feel comfortable sending this back to the article drafter with further instruction. The maintenance tags, I feel, were the most appropriate choice for this article moving forward. Is this all about right? I am new to the AFC scene after all. MJL, I am borderline (but don't deem your accept to be outside of reviewer discretion, either) on the notability of the subject and will probably merge this to The Cher Show (musical) in light of WP:BLP1E and WP:NOPAGE.
That being said, I am satisfied about the three sources, that you chose. I was doubting about whether you took Theatermania.com, Broadwayworld.com et al to be reliable sources, whose coverage lend to a supposed passage of GNG :-( FWIW, Playbill publishes a lot of subtle ad-spam and our article needs improvement; I will be cautious about using it to determine notability.
All's right and regards, WBGconverse 16:29, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@WBG: lol yeah I was using the three sources I mentioned to determine GNG. Merging is cool with me. –MJLTalk 18:32, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
