WW2[edit]
There's not much info on what happened during WW2. The scale of fighting is questionable, yet considerable enough to warrant a monument in the city. My dad tells me that the railway bridge was bombed by the Americans but my grandmother tells me it was bombed by the Germans to disrupt the Soviet army.
