Current events[edit]

I removed the paragraph about the PRA lawsuit. While it is certainly noteworthy in the cummunity in the context of current events, it falls ouside the scope of this article for two reasons. First it is not encyclopedic in nature. Second the paragraph as written clearly violates the NPOV rule. Please dont get me wrong, i find as much outrage anyone else in the ruling - but it just doesnt have a place in this article. Removed text below. The city of Mesa has been in the news and is the poster child for how harsh Washington State's Public Records Act can be. After a long court battle, Mesa was found to have violated the Act, so the truely sympathetic trial court had to impose a $230,000 judgment against the city. For a single Public Records Act lawsuit. This is around 2/3s of the city's annual operating budget. ($540 per resident, $2100 per household) http://www.tri-cityherald.com/kennewick_pasco_richland/story/289557.html
I added back a Current Events section with a short NPOV section on the litigation. It is a significant event related to Mesa and should be included. Proxy User (talk) 23:00, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
