Grade crossing[edit]

The statement It is also one of the few stations in the system located at a grade crossing. seems specious since the Cannondale and Branchville stations are at grade crossings (Branchville has grade crossings both north and south of the station platform). There are several grade crossings within the city of Danbury (though they may be somewhat distant from the station). Your right. If you look on the history for the article page, something close to your point was made by Daniel Case in one of the early edit summaries. All the stations on the New Canaan branch are near grade crossings. ~~What's unusual about the station is that it has no platform level with the train doors. Could that have been what the editor was trying to say?~~ (reread the paragraph, no, that's not what the editor was trying to say.) I think we should change it. I have removed that one sentence from the article. I recently visited Wilton, Cannondale, Branchville, and West Redding; and I think that Merritt-7's grade crossing several hundred meters south of the station is somewhat unlike those other stations. For example at Wilton it is possible (in principle) to be trapped from leaving the platform when the boom barrierss might close (in the admittedly unlikely event that 2 trains were running on either side of the platform). The barriers could trap you in principle since the grade crossing is right at the end of the ramp leading to the platform. The grade crossing near the Merrit-7 station is nowhere near as close as at the other stations on the Danbury Branch. Old Winnipauk Station[edit]

The Danbury and Norwalk Railroad line template claims that Merritt 7 is the site of an old station called "Winnipauk." Any info on this that could be added to the article? ----DanTD (talk) 15:55, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know this is an old comment, but the old Winnipauk station isn't related to Merrit 7. The old Winnipauk station was located about 0.7 miles south. And closed in 1929.Kieran207 (talk) 14:09, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Real adress.[edit]

So I know Metro North shows the station being located at 1 Glover avenue. (So did google maps for YEARS). However, this is actually 1 Glover avenue. The actual station is located at 54 Glover Avenue as apart of the rail property.--Kieran207(talk-Contribs) 02:10, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct - 1 Glover is not particularly near the station. I've updated the infobox to "Glover Avenue at Oakwood Avenue"; that's more useful than guessing the address from Google Maps. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 05:01, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
