The result of this discussion was to merge this article into Merrimack River. Ken Gallager (talk) 13:50, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This article could easily be included within the Merrimack River article. At this point, I don't see anything in this article that wouldn't make more sense being associated directly with the river. Size of watershed: great. Names of major subwatersheds = goes with names of tributaries. Watershed codes: not sure we even need to list these except in references. Also consider that there is already a Merrimack Valley article; it covers a related but different subject (the human geography along and near the river) but could easily be confused with this third article about the river and its environs. --Ken Gallager (talk) 12:34, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ken, thanks... valid point. I am all in favor of merging the Watershed article into a section of the Merrimack River article. That seems to follow the precedent of Mississippi River (for example) which has a Watershed section, discussion of it's major tributaries, as well as a linked Mississippi River Watershed category. It's possible (for instance) to live within the Merrimack River Watershed but be an hour drive from the Merrimack River itself or any town in the "Merrimack Valley" which as you note is completely different than the extent of the watershed.
